Like many plant lovers, it started with a single plant on a windowsill.
It looked beautiful in the shop—lush leaves, perfect blooms, and a promise that it would brighten the home. But a few months later something wasn’t quite right. The leaves began to droop, the flowers faded quickly, and despite careful watering and plenty of attention, the plant slowly declined.
For many people who grow plants indoors, this moment is familiar. You do everything you think you should, yet something still isn’t working.
Often, the problem isn’t the care—it’s the soil.
Where the Idea Began
Origin Soils was born from a simple realization: the foundation of healthy plants starts beneath the surface.
Most plants sold for homes come with generic, mass-produced potting mixes. These mixes are designed for convenience and large-scale production, not necessarily for the long-term health of plants living in living rooms, kitchens, and home offices.
